The Lake Country CCS Yellow Cutting Pad is a great pad to help eliminate swirls, oxidation and ultra fine scratches! Take your favorite heavy cutting polish or compound and pair it with this pad to remove noticeable surface imperfections in your paint. It's a very powerful pad but is paint safe so you get great results with ease. Since this pad is tackling heavy imperfections you'll want to follow up with a lighter pad and polish combo afterward. This pad is built with a unique urethane foam formulation and CCS technology, which provide some unique advantages over traditional pads.
Traditional foam pads tend to absorb polish too quickly, reducing performance because the polish is trapped below the face of the pad. The CCS Technology solves this problem with partially closed foam cells, or dimples on the face of the pad. These pockets capture and gradually release polish as needed during the polishing process. This feature tends to reduce surface tension, pad skipping, and heat generation with less surface area on the face of the pad being in contact with the painted surface. Less surface area means less friction, which in turn increases polishing performance! All Lake Country CCS Pads are made from the same exact foam as the flat versions, which means no confusion on which color will perform which polishing job.
For a 5.5 inch pad, we recommend a 5 inch backing plate.
